The University Center for Kidney and Urology Surgery at An-Najah University Hospital obtains SRC international accreditation

Nablus – Ma’an – In a new international medical achievement added to the list of achievements of An-Najah National University Hospital, the University Center for Kidney and Urology Surgery has obtained SRC (Surgical Review Corporation) accreditation, which is one of the most prominent international accreditations granted to health institutions that adhere to the highest standards of quality in providing surgical services. Dr. Fares Abu Shamma, a kidney and urology specialist, head of the center at the hospital, and dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, has also been accredited as an SRC-accredited surgeon, another achievement that enhances the status of the hospital and its medical team.

On this occasion, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Rami Hamdallah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the hospital, expressed his pride in this achievement, saying: ‘The achievement of this global accreditation by An-Najah Hospital is the culmination of the hard work and investment in developing the hospital’s medic
al capabilities and infrastructure. We affirm our commitment to providing distinguished medical services that contribute to raising the level of health care in Palestine.’

For his part, Dr. Iyad Maqbool, CEO of the hospital, expressed his happiness with this international recognition, stressing that the SRC accreditation enhances the position of An-Najah National University Hospital as a leading medical destination locally and internationally. He added: ‘This achievement would not have been possible without the continuous efforts of all hospital staff who always strive to provide the best, and the accreditation of Dr. Fares Abu Shamma as a certified surgeon is a reflection of the commitment to quality and continuous excellence in patient care.’

In the same context, Dr. Mohammed Jaber, Director of the Medical Department, pointed out that continuous innovation and development of medical and technological skills are two main reasons for achieving these accomplishments. These accreditations are also a culminati
on of the continuous development of the hospital’s medical infrastructure and human resources.’

In turn, Dr. Abu Shama added, ‘This accreditation reflects our commitment to providing the best medical services according to international standards. I am proud of the team at the center, and we will continue to work to develop and improve the quality of healthcare provided to patients.’

This new achievement enhances the position of An-Najah National University Hospital as a leading center for kidney and urinary tract surgery in the region, and confirms the hospital’s commitment to applying the best international standards in healthcare.

It is worth noting that An-Najah National University Hospital has previously obtained the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, making it the first Palestinian educational medical center to obtain this international accreditation, which enhances its position as a leading health and academic institution in Palestine and the region.

The hospital has also been rated
4 stars globally by Statista and Newsweek, reflecting the high quality and outstanding healthcare it provides to patients on a global level.
