There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political process moving towards democracy, implemented according to a set timetable.

Gunmen believed to be affiliated with ISIS attacked a house in Fnaijin village in the northern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate on the evening of April 27, 2022, shooting seven of the civilians in the house dead and wounding five others.

The village is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR notes that the home was owned by Nouri al Hamish, the head of the village’s Public Relations Office at Deir Ez-Zour’s Civilian Council, run by the Syrian Democratic Forces.

SNHR is still trying to reach eyewitnesses to obtain more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all killings of civilians and calls on the controlling forces to assume their responsibility for protecting the civilian population in areas under their control and to launch an investigation into this incident and reveal its conclusions to the public.
