ANKARA, Turkey, Turkish war planes killed 22 Daesh terrorists, in air strikes on the group’s targets in Al-Bab, in northern Syria, in the last 24 hours, the Turkish General Staff said on Thursday (today).

Targets in the air raids included 160 positions belonging to the terrorists, including defence positions, shelters and command facilities, the military said, in a statement.

A total of 2,845 improvised explosive devices have been destroyed, since last Aug, when Turkey launched the Euphrates Shield Operation, against both Daesh and the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), the military wing of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD).

Turkey regards the YPG and the PYD as terrorist organisations, due to their links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party.
