Two children (siblings) were killed and several tents were burnt down after a fire broke out at an IDPs Camp near Hasaka city on August 7, 2022

A fire broke out at Washokani Camp for IDPs west of Hasaka city on August 7, 2022. The fire, which was caused by a short circuit, led to the death of two children (siblings) Abdul Razzaq (age 5), and Adnan Mahmoud Hussein (age 6). Seven tents were also burnt down.

SNHR calls on international relief organizations to urgently satisfy the needs of IDPs camps and calls on them to supply the camps’ administrations with emergency tents.
