UAE Ambassador at carpet manufacturing training highlights radical change in role of women

The Office of Humanitarian Affairs and Development of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Lebanon on Tuesday winded up a training session on traditional carpet manufacturing in Arsal, supported by Sharjah Charity Association, in cooperation with Dar Al-Fatwa.

More than forty Syrian refugee women benefited from these three-month training courses.

The ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Hamad Said Al-Shamesi, said in this context that his country supported such activities through donors.

He explained that Sharjah’s charitable organization aimed to help the poorest and most deprived marginalized factions, including illiterate women, by providing them with rehabilitation to provide them with employment opportunities.
