UN approves 2 Egyptian draft resolutions on Quds, Syrian Golan

Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the UN in New York Osama Abdel Khaleq said on Thursday that the General Assembly of the UN approved two Egyptian draft resolutions on al Quds and Syrian Golan.

In a statement by Egypt’s permanent mission to the UN in New York, Abdel Khaleq said that the resolution on Quds was approved by a majority of 129 votes.

The draft resolution points out to the UN resolutions that reject any measures or laws adopted by Israel to change the nature of Quds city.

The resolution on Golan was approved by 94 votes, he said, adding that the resolution includes a confirmation of UNSC resolution no. 497 of 1981 and the principles of the international law and the UN charter.
