UN Resident Coordinator in Syria condemns attack on Syrian Red Crescent relief center in Aleppo
Aleppo, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Syria Ali al-Zaatari condemned on Thursday the attack on a relief center of the Arab Red Crescent in Syria (SARC) in al- Hamdaniyeh neighborhood in Aleppo city that took place on Wednesday.
Rocket shells fired by terrorist organizations hit houses and the relief center in the abovementioned neighborhood, leaving 2 people killed and 14 others injured.
A SARC employee was among the dead and 7 other employees were injured, three of them in critical condition.
In a statement which SANA received a copy of it, al-Zaatari, who is also the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria, denounced the attack on the SARC center, describing it as “outrageous”.
“We are appalled by the news of the new attack on aid workers and civilians in Syria,” said al-Zaatari, expressing deep condolences to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent organization and the families of victims and injures.
He expressed solidarity with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent employees who are risking their lives every day in order to continue delivering aid to the people in need.
Earlier on , The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) denounced the attack on one of its relief centers in al-Hamadaniyeh neighborhood in Aleppo yesterday.
On Wednesday, the terrorist groups targeted residential houses in al-Hamadaniyeh neighborhood with several rocket shells, causing the death of two persons and the injury of /14/ others, in addition to huge material damage to properties.
