Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil confirmed that “Lebanon’s stance to refrain from describing Hezbollah as terrorist was made because it was not in line with the Arab anti-terror treaty”.

The Minister added that Hezbollah enjoyed wide representation in Lebanon and “it is a main component in the country”.

He said in a statement in Cairo that “Lebanon supported the resolution regarding the situation in Syria, because it came in line with the latest U.N. Security Council resolution.

Bassil condemned assaults against Saudi Embassy in Iran, rebuffing any intervention in the domestic affairs of Arab states.

“This is the position of the Lebanese Cabinet and Lebanon,” he concluded.
