WASHINGTON, — The US welcomed Wednesday “any pause” that facilitates delivery of humanitarian aid in Syria, referring to the three-hour daily ceasefire in Aleppo, Syria, announced by Moscow.

US State Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau said in the daily briefing “we would welcome any pause that successfully facilitates delivering of vitally-needed humanitarian supplies,” stressing that such ceasefire “must be observed by all parties.”

Earlier Wednesday, Russia announced a ceasefire window for three hours starting 0700 to 1000 GMT Thursday in order for humanitarian convoys to reach the civilians in the ravaged Aleppo.
