In Numbers

Overall reached: 1.7 million people Syria: 820,000 earthquake-affected people reached.

290,000 people received ready-to-eat rations and hot meals.

530,000 people in North-West Syria have received their regular General Food Assistance rations and cash transfers, most of whom are affected by the earthquake.

Türkiye: 900,000 earthquake-affected people reached. 796,000 Turkish citizens and Syrian refugees have received hot meals in municipal community kitchens and through partner kitchens. 104,000 Turkish citizens and Syrian refugees have received family food packages in camps

Highlights

WFP earthquake emergency response in Türkiye and Syria increased almost four-fold over the last week, reaching over 1.7 million quake-affected people so far in both countries.

In Syria, WFP resumed its nutrition activities in NorthWest Syria (NWS) along with regular general food assistance, and the ongoing emergency earthquake response in the affected cities.

A total of 78 WFP trucks have crossed into NWS over the last week through Bab-al-Hawa and Bab-al-Salam carrying lifesaving food commodities and emergency supplies.

WFP increased its funding requirements for the emergency response in Türkiye to US$ 80 million to swiftly ramp up its assistance for quake-affected people through food and multi-purpose cash.

In Syria, WFP increased its funding requirements to US$ 150 million to support 800,000 people affected by the earthquake for six months.
