Parliamentary Food Security Probe Committee holds meeting.

A parliamentary committee in charge of investigating food security in the Kingdom of Bahrain held its eighth meeting in the first session for the 6th legislative term.

Chaired by Mp. Mohammed Youssef Al Maarafi, the panel with officials representing Bahrain Flour Mills Company the role of the plant in achieving food security in the Kingdom.

The meeting also focused on the challenges facing the company as well subsidized commodities and expansion plans to provide products to customers at affordable prices.

The committee also reviewed feedback from fifteen competent authorities, including the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, Mumtalakat, Tamkeen and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chaired by Mp. Mohammed Youssef Al Maarafi, the probe committee also includes Mp. Abdulla Khalifa Al Romaihi (Deputy Chairman), Mp. Jalal Kadhim Hassan (member), Mp. Jaleela Alawi Al Sayyed Hasan (member), and Mp. Mohammed Mohammed Al Rifai (member).
